Arches National Park, Moab, Utah

Skyline Arch, July, 2003

This panorama of Skyline Arch shows how barren the landscape is. The day we visited Arches National Park, it was about 105 degrees by mid-day, so we always carried at least two quart bottles of ice tea whenever we left the car - even for short walks. The left half of Skyline Arch fell out in 1940 and can still be seen at the base of the wall. When it fell, it doubled the size of the arch, to what you see here today.
